Applications open for MEDIA-funded co-production funds

Applications are now open for two funds aimed at the development and distribution of European co-productions.

ACM Distribution

Founded in 2015 in order to support and promote the distribution and circulation of international co-productions, ACM Distribution, managed by the CNC with support from Creative Europe's MEDIA programme, has launched its fifth call for applications. Originally intended for films that had benefited from the CNC’s World Cinema Support, it is now open to all works co-produced with a non-European country.

Deadline: 23 Feb 2018

IDFA Bertha Fund Europe

IDFA Bertha Fund Europe aims to stimulate the collaboration between independent European producers and producers from developing countries.

This category caters to documentary projects in all stages of production that have a director from a country on the IBF Country List and that are realised through international co-productions between at least one European and one non-European producer. The maximum contribution per project is €40,000. The application has to be submitted by the European co-producer and should involve a creative element (i.e. a key crew member or post-production service) from Europe.

Visit the IDFA website for more information.

Deadline: 1 May 2018

This category is designed to support innovative distribution plans for documentaries realized through international co-productions between at least one European and one non-European producer. The maximum contribution per project is €30,000. Distribution plans should seek to reach a broad global audience. Financing is made available for plans that make use of both innovative means of distribution and more traditional distribution forms.

Deadline: entries will be accepted continuously from 10 Dec 2017 to 1 Oct 2018.
