Applications open for Global Short Docs Forum

One World Media’s Global Short Docs Forum is accepting applications from filmmakers keen to connect with digital platforms.

Funded through Creative Europe’s Access to Markets scheme, the new initiative is designed to respond to the changing market conditions for short documentaries and act as a matchmaker between relevant commissioners and emerging filmmaking talent. Participating platforms include Aljazeera, BBC Arabic, BBC Stories, and Zoomin TV with others to be announced in the near future.

16 selected applicants will attend a 4-day residential workshop and pitching training, followed by presentations from each participating platform about how they work and what content they are seeking. They will then have one-to-one pitching meetings with editors/commissioners. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the Forum for selected applicants.

Visit the Global Short Docs forum website to find out more about how to apply. Please note, submitted projects must be up to 30 minutes long.

The next deadline for Creative Europe’s Access to Markets scheme is 15 Feb. Visit our funding page to find out more or get in touch with us if you would like advice on your application.
