Aerowaves unveil their list of emerging choreographers
The partners of Aerowaves, a Creative Europe-supported European Platform, have unveiled the list of emerging artists from 17 countries across Europe who have been selected who have been selected to make up the Aerowaves Twenty for 2016. Following an an intensive weekend of watching videos and discussing the work of the choreographers back in October in La Briqueterie in Vitry-sur-Seine, these promising younger choreographers have been chosen from a list of hundreds of choreographers who had submitted applications to the annual open call.
The programme for Aerowaves' annual festival Spring Forward, which will feature at least 10 artists selected from the Aerowaves Twenty and will take place in Pilsen, Czech Republic in partnership with Tanec Praha, is set to be announced in early 2016.
Aerowaves is a Creative Europe-supported European Platform, which receives an annual grant of €420,100 from 2014 until 2017. Aerowaves is a network of organisations which aims to create cross-border performance opportunities for emerging choreographers and build connections between dance artists, programmers and audiences across Europe.
