The Film London Production Finance Market (PFM) is a two-day annual film financing event which takes place in October in association with the BFI London Film Festival.
The Production Finance Market is an industry staple for people looking to get films made - from starting new business relationships, to attaching international sales companies to securing various forms of investments in companies and film projects. PFM connects international producers and financiers to encourage new film financing relationships, and is the only event of its kind in the UK.
The event sees over 800 networking and pitching meetings between financiers and producers. Taking the form of "high-end speed dating", producers have just 30 minutes to impress the financiers before moving on to the next meeting. Participants also get the chance to attend panels of industry experts on new developments in film.
The 2014 market attracted more than €235m of production value and leading equity, hedge fund, tax, banking, and public and broadcaster financiers. To date, some 50 or more films and companies have benefited directly from the PFM.
Attendance is available by application only. The PFM is open to producers with feature film projects of €1 million and above aimed at the international theatrical market. Applications are also open for international financiers seeking new projects.
