Paint The Change commissions street art and run education workshops that empower young people to combat prejudice and bigotry, through creativity and skills development, to change a society’s narrative from prejudice and exclusion to pluralism and opportunity.
Young people are the main producers of Paint The Change's public artworks and videos. From concept to logistics to filmmaking, working with professional artists and producers, it is the youth who define the process and benefit from the experience.
Participants in street art and video production workshops express their thoughts about social issues in their communities, as well as learn skills such as team-building, business development, production, budgeting and accounting, that can transform their communities and can help them in all aspects of their personal and professional lives.
As part of the Creative Europe project, Paint The Change are developing an educational curriculum catered for young communities in three European capitals that are facing radical local challenges. Up to nine large-scale murals will be produced across London, Athens and Belgrade which will be the culmination of collaborations with young local communities and exploration of matters that deeply concern them and the realities they face.
