Kate Deans from Creative Europe Desk UK will be at Federation of Scottish Theatre’s Dance Forum on Thursday 25 May giving an update on Creative Europe funding and opportunities for UK creative and cultural organisations and reassurance following the EU referendum. Speak to her about European networks and partnerships and developing transnational projects.

The next Dance Forum’s discussion topic is sustaining practice from a local and global perspective. Agenda to be published before the event on their website.

The Dance Forum is open to anyone with an interest in dance working across the professional dance, opera and theatre sector. Individuals may be creating work, programming dance, marketing productions or involved in education and participatory projects, as long as they have an interest in the sector and wish to be involved.

Scottish organisations such as Imaginate, YDance and IndepenDance are or have been involved in transnational Cooperation Projects supported by Creative Europe’s Culture sub-programme, with project focuses as diverse as gender identity, migration, community involvement, and inclusive dance. You can read about other Creative Europe supported projects involving UK organisations in our projects database

Scottish organisations are also involved in Creative Europe supported networks. Dancebase is now a member of the European Dancehouse Network, and several organisations are members of European performing arts network IETM, including Curious Seed, Federation of Scottish Theatre, Joan Clevillé Dance, Plan B, and The Work Room. Aerowaves is also a European platform for emerging dance artists supported by Creative Europe.

If you’re not able to make it to Dance Forum, Kate is based in Creative Scotland and available for discussing project ideas, partnerships, and application advice via email, phone or in person – just get in touch.
