This Screen Leaders seminar will focus on areas such as scaling your company, how to succeed in a volatile marketplace and positioning yourself in the value chain. It will explore the business models of film, TV, animation and VFX companies who have gone through a phase of business growth and expansion, with a focus on the international market. The seminar will include case studies and a panel session with the following speakers:
- Michael Coldewey, CEO, Trixter (Germany, LA, Canada)
Founded in 1998 by Michael Coldewey and Simone Kraus TRIXTER Film is one of Germany’s leading animation and visual effects studios, with offices in Germany in Munich/Berlin, and Los Angeles, CA. In 2015 TRIXTER will open its Studios in Toronto, Canada.
- Kris Kelly, CEO, Blacknorth & Blackmarket (Northern Ireland)
Blacknorth is a BAFTA award winning studio that provides Graphics and VFX for local and international clients. Blackmarket produces award-winning, innovative and exciting media content for the film and game industries.
- Vratislav Šlajer, CEO, Bionaut (Czech Republic)
Bionaut is an award winning film and TV company based in Prague, Czech Republic. It has produced over 10 features since its establishment and will be shooting two major TV series with Czech Television this year, it has several film and TV projects in development including a major documentary and dramatized series with HBO Europe
- Mike Bell, Encycle Studios, Producer of Simon’s Cat (London and Northern Ireland)
Along with Simon Tofield he is co-founder of Simon’s Cat, the most successful animation character series on YouTube (3,300,000+ subscribers and 585,000,000+ views to date). Based on the success of the series on YouTube, Simon’s Cat has sold over 1.5 million books in 27 territories (the first book was the No.1 Humour book in the UK) and launched over 100 licensed products.
