European Co-production Weekender
Cross-border collaboration is becoming increasingly important for Creative Europe as evidenced through the recent results of the Single Project development scheme, where 97% of the projects selected were international co-productions. However, there is evidence that shows a decline in the number of co-produced films made in the UK and a recent BFI report has called for the conditions for co-production in the UK to be strengthened.
With that in mind we have launched applications for our new lab, the aim of which is to bring feature film producers - based anywhere in the UK - up to speed with the current co-production landscape in the UK and the rest of Europe.
Over two days international industry experts will take participants through the basics of putting a co-production together, from treaties and conventions to legal agreements and sources of finance.
We are pleased to announce that we will be partnering with co-production experts EAVE for this event, with Head of Studies Lise Lense-Møller kicking off the lab with a in-depth session on the whys and hows of co-production.
A full list of speakers will be announced on this page by the end of July.
Arrivals and welcome dinner on Friday 13 September, with the Weekender drawing to a close at 5pm on Sunday 15 September.
15 places are available for UK-based producers with a lead production credit on a previously released feature film. There is no fee to take part in the lab. Two nights' accommodation and subsistence will be covered by the organisers. Travel arrangements are the responsibility of the participant.
Deadline Extended: 5pm on 7 August 2019
Completed application forms should be emailed to email@example.com
Successful applicants will be notified by 9 August, we regret that we are not able to offer individual feedback on unsuccessful applications.
