Film and TV producers are invited to find out about Creative Europe’s MEDIA sub-programme funding and opportunities and the importance of the development phase in the production of a film. Agnieszka Moody, Director of Creative Europe Desk UK, gives an overview of the support available for producers and chairs a panel discussion featuring three Creative Europe-funded production companies:
- Eimhear McMahon from Sixteen Films who received a Slate grant in 2015 to develop a number of projects including Ken Loach's recent Palme d'Or winner I, Daniel Blake.
- Iain Harvey from The Illuminated Film Company, an animation studio based in London and known for their work on The Snowman, amongst many other successful animated films and series. The Illuminated Film Company has received Single Project and Slate development grants from Creative Europe for projects including Story Story, a children’s series about three little birds. The series was also selected to pitch at the Creative Europe-funded Cartoon Forum in 2014.
- Rob Darnell from Ecosse Films, a production company specialising in high quality drama for film and television. Ecosse Films received Slate funding from Creative Europe in 2015 and were also awarded Slate funding through the previous MEDIA programme.
The panel is part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival Industry Events programme and is free to attend for delegates.
The session will be followed by a networking drinks reception in the Traverse Bar from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
