BFI Video Games Day is the BFI Certification Unit’s annual event for the video games sector in the UK. This year the event is association with the newly established GameMakers Leeds.

The day-long event will feature:

  • A keynote speech from Jamie Sefton, Managing Director of Games Republic and Simon Barratt of Barog Games, who will outline his new GameMaker Leeds venture.
  • Advice and guidance on the games tax relief and the opportunity to book 1-2-1 sessions with the BFI’s cultural test analysts during the event.
  • Presentations from the UK Games Fund, War Child and Creative England (TBC)
  • Panel discussions on topics such as; the diverse representation of games characters, the film/TV/games crossover and what Brexit means for the games sector.

There will also be opportunities to connect with fellow members of the games sector during a catered lunch and an evening drinks reception which will feature playable demos of some exceptional games being developed in the North of England including several VR titles.
